Life is never dull with rescue cats, you spend years getting to know them and eventually build up a mutual level of trust. Then for some strange reason they decide they hate you. One of our cats Oliver who has lived with us for nearly 7 years has recently decided he wants to live outside. I could understand it if this had happened when we brought our new baby home from the hospital. Penny has been home for six months now, however, and cats and baby have lived together happily. What has spooked Ollie is unclear but he has now been living in the summer house for two days and refuses to come inside for food. I could be nice and take him out a bowl of food but I am tempted to wait it out and make him come back when he hungry. We may never know what is behind this new behaviour but hopefully Ollie will decide it is safe to live inside again.
