I managed to grow my Halloween pumpkin this year. This is the result after my husband carved it, I’m sure it will look very nice of the doorstep tonight. I just need to make something with the flesh we scooped out. Pumpkin pie tonight, perhaps.

Gardening Linked to Longer Lives
I do a lot of gardening between working on the garden and the allotment so was interested to see if has been linked to a longer life. In a study of people over the age of 60, keen gardeners were found to have decreased risk of stroke and heart attacks. Perhaps all that weeding might…
Exercise During Pregnancy for Healthier Babies
There is much criticism in the media towards mothers who exercise whilst pregnant so I was interested to read this article. It suggests that exercising during pregnancy can help strengthen the blood vessels of unborn children and improve your babies health. Personally I did light exercise throughout both my pregnancies, mainly because without it I…

This cute little guy or perhaps that should be girl is one of two wildcat kittens born at Highland Wildlife park in Scotland. The wildlife park is one of the main breeding sites for a conservation programme aimed at saving the Scottish wildcat which is on the critically endangered list. It is hoped these kittens…

How Much Food Do You Waste?
Food waste has been in the news a lot over the past few days, highlighted by Tesco admitting how much of their food goes to waste. It seems the figure is 40% on some items such as apples and salad. We do waste food, I’m not saying we are perfect but I do try reduce…
Cat Caught Trafficking Cannabis
I found this article interesting because the cat looks exactly like my cat Willow. It’s about a cat that has been caught trafficking cannabis into a prison. Guards at a prison in Moldova found the cat with a bag of cannabis tied around it’s neck. Surprisingly this is not the first time that cats have…
