This is interesting it’s a spider that lives mainly under water and only needs to come up for air once a day. The diving bell spider uses a web filled with air in order to breathe under the water. The bubble acts almost like a gill extracting dissolved oxygen from the water and dispersing carbon dioxide. This means the spiders can live their entire lives under the water. Previously it was thought the spiders needed to return to the surface many times throughout the out the day. It seems this in not the case, meaning they can remain under the water until it is safe to surface and avoid being caught by predators.
