For those that find online shopping lacks the shopping experience this virtual shopping idea might be interesting. Developed by British firm Keytree the prototype allows customers to walk around a virtual store and put items in their basket. With the prototype customers use an Xbox Kinect to control movement around the store and wave their hand at items to put them into the basket. The basket is then directed to Tesco’s existing online shopping system so they can purchase the items.
It is quite interesting but personally I don’t know that I would use it after the novelty value had worn off. I tend to shop online because it saves me time and often money allowing me to compare the more offers effectively then I could in-store.
