It has been a mixed year for the fruit trees. We had a poor crop of cherries, masses of raspberries and very few plums and damsons. Two things that do appear to have done well are the apples and pears. We had the first pear a few days ago and I have jut picked the first bag full of apples. I’m not sure what to do with them yet, but my thoughts are leaning towards apple pie.
