This cute little guy is a rare Beal’s four-eyed turtle. He recently hatched at a zoo in the US and is one of only 18 known turtles in the US. The species in danger because they are collected for use in Chinese food and medicine.

Wow, isn’t he amazing! It’s a pity that there are so few of them left. I think our populations have to stabilize for any of the other flora and fauna on earth to have hope. The problem is a lot more pronounced in India and other developing countries.
