The last year has certainly flown by and I now find myself the mother of a small child rather than a tiny baby. Penny at a year old seems to be doing something new everyday. She is so very close to walking, taking a few steps but still being afraid to let go of the furniture for long periods of time.
She is learning more and more words now, with her first word being cat. No surprise when she loves the cats more than anything, perhaps they will learn like her as much in time. Other words include bear and duck although we are yet to progress to saying Mummy and Daddy.
With Penny looking more and more like a child and less like a baby it is starting to hit home that we will soon have a new additional to the family. The bump is gradually getting bigger and now nearly six months pregnant I think it might be time to start packing a hospital bag and stocking up on some smaller nappies. It may seem a little early but as Penny made an appearance 5 weeks early it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.
