I am never able to eat much first thing in the morning but those that like to have a big breakfast could have lower levels of insulin and glucose. Scientists have found that people who eat a large breakfast not only have lower levels on insulin and glucose which helps to reduce the risk of heart disease, hypertension and high cholesterol but are also less likely to snack during the day. Researchers gave a group of women most of their calories either at breakfast or at dinner and monitored the two groups. The groups consumed a moderate fat diet totalling 1,400 calories daily over three months. At the end of the study those on the breakfast plan had lost an average of 19.1lbs whilst those on the dinner plan had lost 6.9lbs.
