Following the story a few months ago where bees were producing M&M coloured honey, I came across this story where they have produced After Eight Honey. The bees finding their usual supply of nectar low this year had sought out other food sources and came across the waste products from a confectionary plant. Whilst the honey has an initial minty taste it does also have an unpleasant metallic aftertaste from the metallic storage skips used to store the fondant waste, making it unsellable. I wonder if anyone will decide to make and market these unusual varieties, whilst not an everyday flavour I’m sure they would sell as a novelty item.
